I'm wondering if I were chasing either of them, would my extended unipod slow me down or make me more aerodynamic? It is the shorty model..

Well if you came up on a fence or wall, you could use it as a pole vault...

Oh wait, that's mine, if you have the shorty model you don't have that option.  Might add more wind resistance, you might want to use the tuck and run method.
