Pot Roast,
she would steam all the flavor out of the beef and the vegtables would be soggy.
Blech.
Her tuna casserole wasn't very good either, crunchy noodles.

She did make fabulous Mostacolli!

My mother was a good cook, however my grandmother could never quite grasp the concept. For instance if a recipe called for mayonaise but she didn't have any, she would use milk in its place... because it was the same color. Or even worse, she would try to make total junk food into something healthy like, cherry jello with carrots and green beans in it. ACK!!!

Potatoe pancakes, stale rye bread fried in bacon fat then salted for additional flavor.  Scallion sandwich on buttered rye.  Brings a tear to my eye, sniff.

Goulash she called it.  Macaroni noodles, tomato sauce, browned ground beef, corn, whatever else was laying around the fridge.  Although after feeding myself for 10 years, it's not as bad!

Brussles sprouts!! It's like eating farts, dammit!!

Otherwise, she's a great cook. Whenever I visit her back in Kali, she always whips up some good stuff!

My stepmom: zuchinni!! Damn that stuff is VILE!!

Same with her also: great cook! New York Sicillian! Unfortunately, went vegan some years ago and her pizza don't have the same kick it used to...oh well.

spinach.  It wasn't that mom couldn't cook it, I just didn't like spinach.  My mom was and still is a great cook.  Theoretically, I should weigh about 600 lbs because of her cooking.  The girl could put out a spread.  Oh, and cooked beets.  Nastiest thing in the world to eat.

The foods I hated were ANYTHING cooked in undiluted campbells tomato and cream of mushroom soup. Too damn salty and used too often. It didn't matter if it was chicken, meatloaf, london broil, old boot leather, etc. BLAH!

Turnip greens.  I still detest turnip greens.

What's funny is most of the things you guy's listed I enjoy.  Except Stratsandaks'.  I'm sure she's a fine lady but we ain't eating at his Grandmother's house.

[:D]

**Edited to say it sounds possible your Grandmother may manifest a paresthesia.  Like people who see colors when they read, your Grandmother may get taste sensations from the color of a substance.  BTW I'm not a doctor and I don't play one on TV.

Definitely okra, especially boiled. It looked and tasted like a pot full of boogers and snot!
