I got attacked by a moose this morning. We have a young bull moose that has been hanging around the house for the past couple of months. He'll be a year this spring. We think his mom was prolly killed by a motor vehicle, so he is a loner. Anyway, I was out taking pictures of him and I guess he decided he didn't like me being there. I was about 50' away from him. I've been much closer in the past, within 5' of him, and he didn't seem to mind. He turned straight toward me, dropped his head and his ears flattened against his neck, hackles came up and he was on the move. I ran aroung the back of my truck and he ran by me. I don't think he was too serious about the attack or I would have have not gotten off so easy. My wife was watching from the kitchen window. It must have looked pretty funny. Got the pic, and didn't get my ass kicked in the process. It all turned out good. The moose hung around for another hour and wandered off into the neighbors yard to hassle his dog. He's a garbage can diver too. He comes around about 2 am and knocks over the garbage cans to rummage for vegetable and fruit scraps. Never seen anything like it. He should be of legal size by hunting season. Just thought I would share my funny moose story with everyone.
