remember a topic I posted titled "Rise of the Fourth Reich?"  Have your thoughts and comments changed since 9/11?  The so-called PATRIOT Act trashed the Fourth Amendment, the First is under assault, and the Second will not be far behind.  Have any of you changed your position on the subject?

Not me.  I still alternate between amusement and outrage at the self-serving, hand-waving Chicken Littles that don't know history and don't understand wartime.

I find it alittle hard to understand why the anti's have no problem with the people meaning everybody living or dead when it comes to the first but on the second it some how only means the national guard, correct me if i'm wrong but ain't the people the people regardless, come hell or high water or worse nazicrats(democrats)

sometimes i wish the antis would take the fifth
maybe then they could keep their f$cking mouths shut long enough to hear the truth

THOSE THAT FORGET HISTORY ARE CONDEMEMED TO REPEAT IT!! maybe adolph didn't get the message across the first time, take their guns and their spirit ,their minds will follow

Are all the WWII generation dead or senile?

Geez, what would people do today if they had to ration sugar, meat, gas, copper, rubber, electricity?

What would they say today if the GM plants in Detroit were "taken over" and converted into tank, jeep and APV assembly lines for defense?

Would mottos like "Loose Lips Sink Ships" be construed today as an attack on free speech?

Would Gov't borrowing to fund the war be the beginning of another "Era of Deficit Spending"?

Some people just don't understand where we've been and what it took to win wars back when we really used to win wars.

And not to mention a virtual police state here at home.  If we have our freedoms removed by legislation and our God-given rights usurped, the terrs have won.  This Homeland Security Agency sounds too much like Fatherland to me.
Don't get me wrong, I think the punishment for terrorism should be summary execution.  How to accomplish this without destroying the civil rights that make America different than the rest of the world, is a question I cant answer.

The "Homeland Security Agency" was the knee-jerk of some mindless bozo trying to show he/she was doing something.  It's like tits on a boar hog.  So far all they've managed to do is play with colors, and I'm surprised Tom Ridge didn't have finger paint all over himself when he announced the "Red means you just got blown up" scheme.

The danger is that in time it will develop into a formal organization with police powers.  Just what we need, another federal police agency.

First of all, WTF are your "civil rights" here and how are they being "destroyed"?

Some people here are starting to sound like Jesse "Shakedown" Jackson. Have you been so radicalized that your common sense has been blinded too?

The very problem we're facing in our current "WWIII War on Terrorism" is that we're bending over backwards tip-toeing around the imaginary "civil rights" obstacle course constructed by leftists who want to hamstring our Gov't from protecting itself.

The war is not overseas - that's a mop up operation. The real WWIII is going on INSIDE our borders.

And this time, it WILL be another Vietnam - inside our own country.  We are repeating the same mistakes of VN only in our own land.  We are running a piecemeal, disorganized, unfocused, war against a civilian-based enemy within our own borders and are afraid to use the overwhelming force necessary to get the job done.  Bit-by-bit efforts to eradicate the enemy will turn this war into a big sticky "Q".

To win the war domestically, no half-assed efforts will do. F*ck your imaginary, socialist, pinko-lawyer-created "civil rights" - just eradicate the enemy.

Rik, I know you've read this before, but didn't get the message. This is my reply to you EVERY time you post directed at me....

Hey Rik[:K]! Guess what!? I did a post search on you for the last 3 months. Wanna know what I found? EIGHT pages of posts! I only looked at 5 pages, but I got the picture. Out of 5 pages of posts, you posted in 8 topics having anything remotely to do with firearms! ONE post was on the equipment exchange, a sale item, it wasn't even yours, it was for a friend! Do me a favor[:K], don't address me any more on this board. I really don't consider anything I've seen you come up with to be very thought provoking. Just provoking. So[:K], go bug someone else.......
(Edited to add..) I decided WTH, and checked pages 6,1 post,7,0 posts, 8,1 post None in equipment exchange. So[:K], it would appear you exist to throw stones and provoke folks.....

Paying membership is voluntary here, unless I am mistaken.  How hilariously ironic that someone who is supposedly a libertarian and so concerned about individual freedom would attempt to coerce people to pay to access a website.  But then, logical consistency obviously isn't your strongsuit.  Neither is intelligence, or wit, or realism...do you even HAVE a strongsuit???

I bought a Bushmaster Shorty and cases of ammo from Ammoman partly based on what I learned here.

Advertisers pay $$ to this site to advertise to "freeloaders" like me. Advertising rates and $$  payed to GB are based on hits expected & generated by "freeloaders" like me.

I visit this site, read about their products, see their ads, buy their stuff, they pay GB.

Just because you were once a soldier doesn't make you a good American!!

Back to subject...

I think both the Drug War and the War on Terrorism use absurd tactics to "win".

Like police having the right to seize property before due process.

I think it would be a lot more productive to do like China and expel all Arabic non-citizens and only allow Arabs into the country on business.

90% of the terrorism can be traced back to the Middle East, go after the perps not the American citizen.
