There are three major credit bureaus, TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian. You have a credit score for each. It can range from 350 to 850. The only way it can be more than 850 is if you are 6'5", have a 12" penis, and make $1,000,000 a year.
If you know all three, post 'em. If you only know one, post that one. Mine TU 740 EQ 715 EX 728 |

I've got my pen and paper out.
Please also post your social security number and your mother's maiden name.

I really hate the term 'credit score'. Like it's something we should be aiming to improve.
Nice line of BS from the companies that make their living rating your credit & deciding your fate. Fuck that. My ideal credit score is ZERO. Because that means I'm living within my means and relying on no-one but myself. |
|
I don't have one,
If you go 10 plus years without borrowing, it goes away. Says no info or something like that. |

BTW he doesn't have a FICO score because he has no outstanding credit. BTW II mine was 799 last time I checked. |

Is there a way to get these numbers without paying money?
A couple years ago I was paying $$ to FREECREDITREPORT (free my rosy red ass!). At that time my score was ~770. I'm cheap and have no wish to pay others for information about myself. |
|
USAA just sent me a letter stating they were going to use credit scores to set rates in Texas.
Like my credit score has anything to do with a Tornado hitting my home, or a lightening strike. This whole fascination with credit scores is insane. And mine is higher than just about anybody, and I have zero debt. |
|
Mine was something like 809 last time I checked.
Not that it matters. |

My wife and I have a 650 neighborhood average. I dont know why or care aint no way in hell Im borrowing money.

It does matter for a whole lot of things.
Mine was something like 809 last time I checked. Not that it matters. If you need to borrow money, a low score (or no score) will often preclude that possibility. A low score can also keep you from getting hired. Fair or not, the credit score is used by many to judge your worth or risk. |

Maybe, but its still cheaper than maintaining a credit score |

Last check was Aug 09. 804. I see no reason why it shouldn't have gone higher since then. |
|
When we refi'd in Novemeber we were both around 810 composite (combo of the 3 scores)
|
|
Equifax 810, Experian 803, TransUnion 809.
I use my cards to get cash back rewards. They are paid in full every month. The rewards don't count for much but 1% or 3% makes me feel like I got a little bit back. A good credit rating did help me get a better rate on my car insurance. That's what they told me anyway! |
|
If you would like a copy of your credit report (the actual items on your report, not the score), you can go to annualcreditreport.com. You are legally entitled to one copy of your report from each of the three agencies each year. I found a discrepancy on my wife's report - and it made a difference.
Dont go to freecreditreport.com. They are set up to rip you off. |

How about I post my "Mind Your Own Fucking Business Sally" score?
|
|
Mine was 760 and 740 in September.
Then they basically LOST IT last month, so now it's 3 goose eggs... Right as I was working on a mortgage... Soooo, here I am a month later, explored ALL my options, and finally have to go with a co-signer if i want this house and the $8000 credit... |
|
about 750 last time I checked. I'm debt free minus a mortgage. No CC Bill and no cars to pay for. It's great! I should check it considering my CC# was stolen a while back.
|
|
772 for now.... about to short sell a house from my last active duty station. It's gonna sting a little.
|
|
Good enough to buy a house back in June of 2009...I don't know what it is now though...

Funny, when I got prequal for the house it took a 30 point hit. Then my dumb ass paid off & closed 2 lines of credit midstream, another 30 point hit.... 45 days after closing my score recovered that whole lost 60 and picked up another 60. Funny shit that FICO bs. |

Yep, getting the pre-qualification on the home loan my wife and I just did, my score dropped about 27 points (dropped me from "Excellent" to "Good").... Luckily it bounces back in about 30-60 days. |
|
I did run a credit check with all of them and no negatives.
Scores? Don't know. Probably nothing great. Haven't borrowed since 1995 personally. Wife had a car loan up till a few months back. |
|
Have to wonder how much people have been hit by the Credit Card companies dropping their limits....$5 or $10k card suddenly drops to $1k....wouldn't that damage the person's credit (ratio of balance to available credit...even if they pay it off every month, if they use it, they're still charging a significant portion of their available credit).

The FICO scores and the Big 3 are running a 21st century extortion racket. Bad credit scores which they are held harmless for screwing up in their f****ked up databases can ruin your life. ie. high insurance rates, no security clearance, etc. So, pay them 9.95 / mo and they will tell you how they have screwed up your life, possibly, but will not necessarily fix any mistakes they may have made. Don't pay them and you will never know how bad they have screwed you. This is the modern day version of the Chicago Shakedown where mobsters wanted "insurance" money so your bar and grill would not mysteriously burn down. Ben Stien advertises for these jerks now, which says alot about Ben Stien, IMO. This racket is netting the Big 3 millions of dollars as evidenced by the millions they spend on running their ads.
Go downtown to your friendly banker. Tell him you are interested in a loan but not sure of your credit rating. He will run you one for free then and there, even give you the printout of the details––––no $9.95 / mo required. |

CK is fine as a general guidepost, but it is FAKO. FAKO? It is not a FICO score. Fair Issac controls access to the FICO algorithm... The one that lenders generally use to judge creditworthiness. If it doesn't say "FICO", it is a basically a fake score and could mean next to nothing. It's just someones best guess using some other algorithm that they made up. CK seems to be generally close. Usually it is within 10-30 points of my FICO, though on some occasions I've seen differences of up to 50. There have been times my CK score has gone down when my FICO score has gone up, and vice versa. |
|
FICO = 680
It was 725-750 but that was before BOA dropped my available credit from $15k down to fuckin $3k. |
