My buddy has a shop with a store front and he's trying to install a reused sign w/ individual letters on a gutter (~2' x 8'). It's intact except for the balast 120v input shows no polarity, IE Hot and Neutral.
What is the make up on these signs and are they polarity sensitive?

On a transformer like that the polarity won't matter.
The signs themselves use various gasses and tube coating on the inner walls to produce different colors. Note that there may be a fair amount of mercury vaporized and sometimes rolling around usually at the ends of the tubing. -Foxxz |

A/C is alternating current, 60 cycles(Hz). The sign wave ... nevermind.
It does not matter on the "hot" or grounded conductor(nuetral) connections on the sign. |
