I was telling a coworker last night about a Vietnam war movie I saw a few years ago but couldn't remember the name.

It was about a remote firebase that was shared by regular GIs and some Special Forces. The SF guys would stay in their own bunker all day and only go out at night for ambush.

One of the regular GIs gets the bright idea to bring his girlfriend from the USA over to their firebase since they're supposedly so far from the actual fighting.

When she first gets there everything goes well, everybodies happy.

Eventually though she starts hanging out with the SF guys and soon goes out with them on their nightly ambush missions.

Anybody know the name of the movie?

Yes, that's it!

A Soldier's Sweetheart

I wanted to rent it again but couldn't remember the name.

Thanks Tuukka

Here is a review from someone:

Date: 9 November 1998
Summary: An interesting premise.

Hopelessly awash in absurdity and inaccuracies. Clearly no one involved with the film had ever been to Viet Nam, looked at a map, or had the slightest inkling how armies at war operate.
