Question ––- US Citizen currently in the UK as a student. Wants to work in the "film" industry. Is a permit required? If so, what permit(s) and how do I get it?

Can officials be bribed with copious amounts of Miller Lite? (i.e., top shelf beer from the US).

First of all, you're assuming the officials are either gay or Welsh.

Second, there is scope for working under a student visa, but it is limited.

Working while you are in the UK

During your stay, you will be allowed to:

work part-time (up to 20 hours per week) during term-time;

work full-time during vacations;

do a work placement as part of your course;

work as a postgraduate doctor or dentist (if your course of study is a recognised Foundation Programme); and

be a student union sabbatical officer for up to two years.
