A recruiter can't answer this definitively.

You'll have to have your case reviewed by a recruiting center's doctor. The recruiters can tell you if this will even prohibit your visit to the Armed Forces Entrance Center.

The issue is that if it's a pre-existing condition that's going to be aggravated by the service they're not likely to take it and the treatment of it on for the rest of your life. This is normally a doctors call.

That said I had a guy working for me that "blew out" both his knees in high school, but got enlisted and served 12 years before they became too much of an issue and he was discharged with nearly a 30% pension. What "blown out knees" meant to him I don't know.

Typically the service is going to want you at 100% before you enter bootcamp but now things might have changed. It's a kinder and gentler bootcamp now [:)]. When my date came up 21 years ago I had managed to show up with two black eyes [B)] and my vision was just a tiny bit off - they sent me home for six weeks to heal before inspecting my eyes again.
