I have the Blackberry Curve, over 2 years old. I am eligible for a free Blackberry Curve, or Tour, or for $99 I can get the Droid.
I like my curve, thinking about the Tour brcause of battery life and better camera, but its bigger.
Keep hearing the Droid is better.

Which one should I get?

Has anyone gone from the blackberry to the droid?

My sister went from a BB Curve to a Droid Eris.  She doesn't like it as much as I do.

I went from a Samsung Alias to a Droid Eris and I love it.

I had the Storm 1, at upgrade time I got the droid, 3 days later I traded it back in for the Storm 2. I'm happy.

I have a Storm 1.  Really don't like it.  I'll get an Iphone if Verizon ever gets to carry it.

Abandoned BlackBerry last November for the Droid.  I have never missed it.

Can't stand my 8350i. Given a chance, I'd take the Droid.

I went from the curve to the tour and I like it. My wife just upgraded from the pearl to the storm and she loves it. My fingers are so big I worry about hitting the wrong buttons on a touchscreen so I dont know if I would like the droid either.

+1

I love my Storm 2. The first ones had their problems, but I think the 2nd one is the best phone out right now.

In before the Droid army!

Everyone I know who's had both has preferred the Droid.  Much quicker with better functionality.  The Droid does everything the Blackberry can and a lot of things BB can't.

Droid is supposed to be crazy fast, twice the ram...but what can it do that the BB can't? Verizon doesn't really say, they make them sound the same just better screen, faster etc...on the droid

There's a very good reason why BB is still at the top of the saturated smartphone market.  I've had a few different smartphones and PDAs, and I'm sold on BBs.

Anyone with the Droid, can you one hand text pretty easily?

No where near as easy as you can on a BB.  Crackberry always judged smartphones for their ease of being able to do things one handed and on the go.  In that world BlackBerry is the undisputed king.  No platform has the some ease of use on the go.

I'm trying to decide which of the android-based phones to get, I'm due for new phones on Sat. (verizon)

Anybody have any advice on the HTCeris/Moto/N1 decision? I'm tempted to wait for the N1 if the Eris isn't comparable, I don't think I want to lug the extra weight of the keyboard around on a droid...

This will be my first smartphone.

BB is better at integration with Exchange and better for typing.

Otherwise, Droid and Android absolutely blow it away in every other category.

Go get a Droid from a VZ store, if you don't like it, you have 30 days to take it back.

If you don't want a physical keyboard, wait for the N1 on Verizon. The Eris is a fine phone, but it is a generation behind.

Exchange works well with the droid using TochDown. Yes, it's another 20 bucks, but you get full exchange functionality pretty easily.

Depending on IT policies TouchDown isn't even necessary.

After reading some back of house info, and that was after getting to finger fuck the droid til the cows come home, I'm sticking with the blackberry for now...

The ability to run Flash Lite is appealing, though.

I have always had the cheapest Motorola phone I could get from Verizon and recently purchased my first "smart phone," a Motorola Droid. I have nothing to compare it to, but this thing is awesome.

If you decide on a Droid, be sure to visit Costco and save yourself some money.

Just changed my BB Storm 2 for a Droid.  The BB is now on ebay.  I love the Droid.  I liked the BB at first, but can't stand the way you have to press the screen twice or hard enough to make the button press work every time you touch it.  With the Droid all you have to do is touch it, very lightly, and it works.  No double taps, no hard pressing.  So much easier.

I'll take the 2 Droids for $199, Alex.  My wife likes it too.

cheap ass four year old cricket phone.

35 bucks a month unlimited calls long distance and text.   I have a computer at home  . Waste of money to carry one around in my pocket in my opinion.

I switched from a Curve to a Droid and have zero regrets (other than maybe waiting for it to be $99).
