It's a very old account and that might be why it won't work. I have emailed the webmaster, but it still won't work on my old screen name. I am under this new name for now. Please help if possible.

This isn't the original board. To make a long story short, the board crashed last year and we all had to start over.

I remember when it crashed.

The problem is when I try to register my original name it identifies the name as taken by me already, but won't accept the password.

Is there a way to kill my old account so I can do what we are all advising and register the name again? It seems logical to me.

I can't newly register a name that is already taken. That is the crux of the problem. Perhaps somebody else is using my name after the crash?
