Could the moderators who are locking threads just add a message at the end stating why it's being locked and possibly point to the section in the forums conduct rules?  That way people won't post tons of "why was my topic locked?" posts, and those who don't know they're not following the rules will therfore be warned.

Someting like "This thread is being locked because of XXXX.  Please see conduct rules #X."

Just an idea, but I think it's a good one, especially considering that some people, including myself, think that some of the threads that are being locked are being done out of spite instead of code violations.
