How about a number or scale that would depict generally how close we are to a large scale shtf or teotwawkit.  It probably should be posted on the survival forum.  Each visitor could key in a number that would then be averaged (somehow) with the existing number.  For example, the number 100 would indicate that we are currently in a shtf situation.  The number 1 would mean that life is blissful and will probably always be that way, and so on.  Readers would need to be reminded that this is a National Index and a power outage on their block does not constitue shtf.  I'd be glad to give you my opinion on what constitutes a 90, 30, or 60, but you probably can come up with something workable.
