A full blown outbreak has just occurred, your holed up and only have a few guns and only one handgun. Which REVOLVER is your go to gun and why?

This will be hard for younger folks who don't know what a revolver is and only own plastic.

(pics score bonus points)

Mine is a Smith & Wesson model 66 with a three inch tube. Why? Light, compact, easy to handle and carry. Can shoot either 38 or 357 mags and ammo is available everywhere.

Ruger GP 100,4" barrel.It can handle a steady diet of real magnum loads, and any questionable reloads you might happen to scavenge.One of only two revolvers I own.

I would pick any 6 round cylinder revolver that has a 3" barrel at least (preferably longer) for accuracy and can shoot both 357 and 38. That 8 round S&W is nice, but I am hesitant about not being able to find speedloaders or half mon clips for it.

This is a S&W model 19-2 . 357 magnum with a 2" barrel, made in the 80's, that I bought earlier this year. It was a safe queen and has no drag marks on the cylinder, basically new......

Nagant with suppressor.

No good in a zombie swarm but great for sneaking about & taking care of any lone zeds you come across without alerting the rest.

Since only headshots work on zombies a good 8-9 shot .22lr revolver should do ok. Much less noise than a .38/.357 or larger, easier to scrounge ammo for & you can carry lots of ammo easily.

I've got a S&W 500 Mag. If you could get them to line up, it will take a lot of heads with one shot. My GP 100 is probably more reasonable.

my Ruger GP100, 357 with a six inch barrel. It always goes bang and I can hit 6" steal with it at 50 yards and have practiced the double tap with magnum loads. It's also my HD Gun.

I've tried to like revolvers and have owned many of them. Just don't own any now. Had a 4" 629 on hold for a while at my gun store, but ended up letting it go. Owned a couple of Pythons but ended up selling those to (stupid me!). Dad has a 6" 686 though. I'll just make due with one of my Gold Cups.

the barrels revolve, it counts right?..

i guess if i had to go with a "grandpa's gun" i do still own a H&R 929 and a ruger single six .22LR / .22mag that i just haven't gotten around to dumping yet. 15 rounds between 2 guns and the baility to carry 100s 1000s of round sof ammo makes me far better armed than a 16th century musketeer i suppose but why the fuck would anyone intentionally put themselves in harms way with any gun with such limited capacity?..

Historically, that was a terrible gun. The rifle cartridges had too much pressure for the chamber and cylinder and because it was a rifle, when you had a K-Boom it would blow off your left hand.

I'd say Ruger SP101 because it's light and can use .38 or .357, both of which should be plentiful or a S&W 24 .44 special because it's just sweet! I guess it just depends on what's present.

i did really enjoy the thread where we had to select our loadout if it were a ww1 era zombie apocalypse...

if we're going antiquated lets at least bump the capacity bak up a bit... iirc 7mm pinfire and 21 and 30 rounds respetively, would reproductions in .22LR be ban-state compliant as they have no "detachable" magazine?..

This is mine. It's in 44 WCF caliber (aka 44-40) and I made the grips myself. Shoots to point of aim and I'm pretty good with it, having shot it a lot.

I like revolvers, and especially a .357 Smith. This old model 65 would do just fine. It loves the 147 grain Winchester Silver Tips.

This Model 63 in .22 LR might be more practical in the long run though.

No pics, but I would have to go with my 6" S&W 686. If it weren't for slow reloads I'd pick my Ruger Vaquero in .45 Colt., and the 686 can shoot .38 Spc. or .357 Mag.

S&W 625 JM Special in .45 ACP with 4" barrel. Smooth as silk and quick reloads with the moon clips. Grips replaced with Hogue Mono-Grips. Sites replaced with Ameriglo tritium for 24 hour zombie killin.

I think you got this mixed up with the colt revolving rifle. The gun in the picture is a russian made revolving shotgun.
