Gentlemen,
I am the State Director of Texas Students for Concealed Carry on Campus and the Vice Chairman for Texas A&M Students for Concealed Carry on Campus and I'm once again asking for some help on behalf of our organization. It’s been a very busy year and a hard road fighting for our right for self defense on campus. As many of you know, we nearly passed our bill last session to allow concealed carry on campus, but it was run out of time by another bill that was filibustered. We have been gaining a lot of momentum this year and I know that with everyone’s support, we can make this pass this next legislative session.

I am posting this to ask for your help. Texas A&M University’s Students for Concealed Carry on Campus chapter by far is leading the pack and is our largest membership base in Texas. There are over 1150 members in this chapter with 15 SCCC Officers/leadership. If there is any chapter that can change their University’s policy, it is TAMU SCCC. If we are going to make this happen, we need to take our stand here. If we have a strong showing of support here with an overwhelming member base, then our state legislators will be much more willing to support and vote for our bill.

Unfortunately, we are low on funds and this chapter needs funding for different items for a successful campaign. During our last drive for funding, we received some very generous donations, which were stretched as far as possible to make the greatest impact. Because of a few generous donors, we were able to purchase a nice banner, a spot at open house to recruit freshmen, lapel pins for members, materials to build sandwich boards for advertisement and a few promotional items. We still need a large amount of funds for other promotional items to advertise our organization and recruit more members.

Anything you can donate to our cause is very much appreciated, whether it’s $1 or $100. You can view the group on facebook, or I will try to post pictures here as well. If you have kids in college, please encourage them to either join our TAMU group, Texas Group, or national group (or all 3).

You can send a personal check or money order to the following address:

Student Organization Finance Center
Texas A&M University
125 John J Koldus Student Services Building
Mail Stop 1236
Slot #385
College Station, TX 77843-1236

PLEASE make sure to make the check or money order out to Texas A&M Students for Concealed Carry on Campus.
The University will not allow us to make a paypal account or to take any donations besides Check, Money Order, and Cash. I don't know why this is, but from all the hoops they've made us jump through, I'm not surprised.

Please also message me if you are sending a check so I can tell the Chairman to check the mailbox and deposit it into the SOFC account. You can reach me at [email protected] with any comments, questions, or concerns.

Thank you for your support,

Chase Jennings
Texas SCCC State Director
Texas A&M SCCC Vice Chairman

I thought I'd give everyone an update! We had our open house/freshman recruiting day today. It was a huge success and we gained a lot of members. The campus movement is gathering steam––it looks like it's going to be a great year for us. We have grown to be the largest completely student run organization on Texas A&M's campus and larger than the state group of "students for gun free schools".

Handouts, flyers with meetings info, contact cards, some leftover candy one of our members brought to give away––we gave out over 800 flyers today!

Banner, membership pins, banner stand all bought with donated funds (plus the fee for open house)

Packed house and we were given a prime spot where most of the traffic was funneled

Overall, it was a complete success.

We received a very generous loan to buy more t-shirts (we sold out in a couple days last year)––please contact me if interested in one––we are selling them for $10 each.
