So now you have a stray/wild dog that has no fear of humans. Thats why I shoot every stray or coyote I can, they kill other people's pets and live stock. If one shows up at the house and is friendly thats one thing. I say make shit bag friend do the dirty deed. You have a pet YOU are responsible for it good or bad.

If your buddy wanted it done, he should have done it himself. Now he does not have to deal with taking the life of the dog and will do the same on the next dog he gets. Which I'm sure he will have another.
Guy should have done it himself, I could not let someone else do it for me if it needed to be done! |

The right thing to do? It would be a challenge but I would train it myself. There are no bad dogs, just bad owners...

You should have taken him to a shelter, if they couldn't get him adopted or placed in a rescue then he would have been humanely put to sleep. Wow is all I can say. |

Dumping it did one of three things: 1. Made someone else deal with the problem. 2. Doomed the dog to die slowly because it couldn't survive in the wild. 3. Loosed a potentially mean dog into the wild. There are lots of options that range from having the dog put down all the way to rehabilitating it and finding it a good home - or even having someone else do all of that. But dumping it was a bad idea. But, it may not be too late. Head back, and see if you can find the dog and make one of the better choices, wherever on the range from death to rehabilitation it is. |
