That stinks, I've been using them for a couple of years now favorably. I get the Poly in 12's.

Maybe its just a Martin thing. I remember the coating being a LOT thicker on them when they first came out, so they have improved them somewhat. We put that first set on Dad's D-35 back then and they sounded dead, like a set of strings thats been on for FAR too long. Bluegrass guys would probably like them, the lower strings are dead like Daddario 19's.

Do they still get fuzzy when they get a little old? I remember getting a couple sets from their free trials when they first came out. Decent strings, and lasted quite a while, but the coating never seemed to do much for me.
These days it's half-rounds/ground-wounds/brite-flats/whatever you call them for me. |

You may have had the nano this time. |

But by that time it's time for a change anyway. I like the coating for the comfort and quiet when playing acoustic. (sliding up or down the neck is much quieter with the coating) I don't use them on my electrics. |

I like these a lot. If I would change my strings on a more regular basis I might like something else, but nothing holds up like these. I think they sound fine.
