Just curious.......
I smoked 2 La Vieja Habanas this evening/afternoon, and at about $2 each that's about as much as I'm gonna spend in a day on cigars. I didn't have one yesterday, and the day before that I had a Punch Maduro ($2) and a Curlyhead ($2). Now, I ain't poor, but I'm certainly not rich either, but I was just wondering how many smokes (and the cost) y'all have on the average day???? |
I usually smoke about twice a week, but I recently took up pipe smoking and good pipe tobacco is much cheaper than cigars, so I may start smoking a bit more often.
I probably average a little more than one a day, some weekdays without and multiples on the weekends.
2 a day!!! NO WAY!!
I just finished cleaning guns, and that is when I usually smoke. I smoked my favorite smoke which is a Romeo y Julieta 1875 Churchill. I smoke one about every two weeks. |
i probably average about 1 every other day. When i do, my list of usuals are el mejor, nestor reserve, 5vegas, gurka (from Cbid only), CAO
Every Monday, Tuesday, and Wedensday afternoon if the weather permits. I enjoy sitting outside on my lawn or a friends lawn and smoking a nice cigar with a few great beers.
Joe.... |
I smoke at least one cigar a day, and minimum a Fuente, Padron, LFD, or ISOM regular line. I find some off the less known brand quality are not quite consistence, and the differences can vary quite a bit from cigar to cigar.
On days I can smoke more than one (weekends), I normally start up with the lesser known brands and work my way up to a better quality cigar. Special occations call for special cigars, and for those days, nothing but premium limited productions will fit the bill. |
one or two a day, sometimes(rarely) none & up to 3 on the weekends.
Unless I'm drinking........ |
I fire up a couple a day, mostly Ashton, San Cristobal, La Aroma de Cuba and Old Henry. I'll throw in an occasional bundled cigar or a $2-$3 stick.
I use my side income from firearms instruction & IT consulting/programming to augment my cigar buying budget. All of my primary income is consumed by my beloved who takes care of the household finances (and issues lunch money every two weeks). Sometimes I go cheap on lunch and use leftover $$$ to buy a few cigars when my new lunch allotment is dispersed ... |
One every 2-3 days during the week. One a day during the weekend. If I'm fishing or goign to be outdoors all day, then 2 wouldn't be a stretch.
I'm not smoking anything too expensive but will enjoy a premium on the weekends and for special occasions. |
1 a day mostly sub $5 sticks.
on the weekends i might do a tatuaje or anything thats pricier. |
2-3 a week while I'm deployed, less when I'm home. (a function of the better half not being particularly fond of my cigars) Usually Gurkas, Drew Estate, CAO, 5 Vegas.
Dude, I had just taken a drink of ice tea and still had it in my mouth when I read that line, and came VERY close to spraying my laptop. A decent cigar and $2 should not be included in the same sentence. Do what myself and many others do, visit Cbid, buy some fivers of what you like for a fraction of what they cost in the store. You can get $5-8 cigars all day long for about $3 a piece. |
for once i'm the big spender...
lately i've been smoking 1-2 ISOM's a day, averages to 11 a week? but having bills only 40% of your income, and the rest trying to figure out what to do with (buying silver gets boring, saving isnt THAT interesting especially right now, and guns..... well lets just say before ISOMs it was guns and ammo) i'm not rich either, when i think about it, i work about 2 hours to smoke those 2 ISOMS. is it worth it? HELL YEAH! |
At least 3x a week. Unless I am on call. Then all bets are off.
Just a couple a month, I think I'm becoming more of a collector.......I need to change that..
Everytime I smoke one. LOL
I smoke about 5 cigars a week, in a normal week. |
About twice a year. I really enjoy fine cigars. However, my genetics prohibit me from making it a regular thing.
at least a couple a day.
I really don't want to add up what I spend on cigars a year. |
Same here. Though if I put some effort into getting those $5-$8 for $3 it might be more often. |
I've been smokin' about 2 a week, but they're not really what I would call "good" cigars. They tend to be on the cheap end. On weekends when I have friends over, I'll bring out the good stuff.
-Mark. |
I try and buy boxes through cbid , and also 5 packs through JR and whatever my local B&M's have (like a Jeff Katz special)....
So I guess you would say 2x Fri-Sun evenings and up to 1 per weeknight. |
I gave it up for a couple years, neglected my stash and lost about 500 bux worth of really good cigars. Since starting back again, I generally smoke 3-5 per week. Usually $8-10 sticks, almost always Maduros. Butera 550's, Avo Bellicoso, CAO Gold, but am enjoying my first Rocky Patel right now. It may be one of my new faves...

Thanks everybody for the replies,
and JH225, I'm sorry I offended you with my cheap cigar habit. Hope you didn't lose any of that high-priced "ice tea". |
Life is too short to drink cheap scotch or smoke cheap cigars.
A hybrid of scotch and sloth, very rare, very rare |
I've had that. Usually around last call when asked what I want. pretty sure it's pronounced Scoth...
I've been there too |
About 4 a week. Mostly VSG, San Cristobal, Tatties, DPG, or Illusiones for NC's, with RASCC, BBF, CoRo, and PSD4 rounding out the usual selection. About the only cheapie I like is the 5 Vegas Gold. Wish I'd bought more of the JDN serie C when they were out as they were also very good for an inexpensive smoke.
Once every two months for me, if even that. No rush. |
It kind of depends, could be 2-3 a week or it could be zero. We finally(less then a year) have a good tobacco shop ~1/2 hr from where I live, so I will usually grab something new while "in town" usually in the $8-$12 range, once in awhile I'll grab a $20 stick to try. Right now they have about 400 open boxes to try. I am like a kid in a candy store. They have some nice comfy leather chairs to sit and enjoy if you like. It's always kind of funny to a see a few "older" business types in suits sitting chatting w/ a couple of 20yo college students in t-shirts. Nothing like a good cigar to break down the social barriers.

Approx. 2 times a week, if I'm having a really good week then maybe 3.
I smoke maybe 2 a week maybe a 3rd on a nice weekend.
I like a good smoke so I don't mind paying a few more for a better quality tobacco and roll. Consistancy too. I also trade/try new smokes with a few friends. edit spellung |

Thanks everybody for the replies!! Keep 'em coming!
I hope I haven't offended anybody by mentioning the cheap cigars that I've been smoking lately, but it's a learning process for some of us. A friend fixed me up with a St. Luis Rey Serie G (about a 7x56) a few days ago, and I don't think I'll ever see the world in the same light again!!! |
I enjoy a cigar about once a month. So I'll spend the money on a good one.
I like to think that every cigar I smoke is decent.
Right now a Gurkha Titan. Which I smoke on a regular basis. Being a Gurkha fan boy I indulge in Beast's, Grand Age, Shaggy Maduro's, Black Dragon, and G3's perhaps more often than I should. Plus a wealth of other fine smokes. Cruise the "What'cha got lit up now" thread for GREAT recommendations. I do! |
I normally only smoke 3-4 cigars a year (normally only for specific events, like a friends bachelor party, or after some other important event, to celebrate) When I do smoke, only the best cigars will do.
Lately once or twice a week. Daily in the past. Just depends on my schedule and my budget.
If I've got em, I smoke em. 6 in one day is the most I've ever done, but that was at a cigar party, and I was smoking them with Jorge Padron, so it was worth it.
I usually average 1-2 a week anymore, used to smoke a LOT more when I was single. |
Usually 3-4 a week (normally Arturo Fuente curly heads deluxe).
On weekends either a Arturo Fuente Spanish Longsdale or Privada #1 all maduro of course |
Usually one a day, in the afternoon and 3 to 6 over the weekend. Mostly Cubans with the occasional WOAM, Tatuaje, or El Triunfador. I'm into the Lancero & Corona Gorda sizes right now and I guess my average is about $8.00 to $10.00 a cigar
