I have this pitchfork that has lots of memories at the fire pit and I want to rebuild it because the handle broke.
I couldn't get the wood out of the fork area, so last night while having a bonfire I threw it in there to burn it out. But I have no clue how to get a new handle in there, does anybody have any knowledge of this?

I realize it can be readily made... but OP may not wish to go through the effort when he realizes he will need a steam box among other things to do this... |

Um. A steam box is for bending wood not metal. Most fork handles are straight...

Another possible issue is that the heat treating could be all out of wack due to the fire.
Not sure how to restore that. Too soft and the tines will just bend with use , too hard and they will snap . Be a shame to invest a bunch of time getting a new handle on it and then find it is not useable |
