Ban hammer
Using with very fine Japanese chisels Tenderizing meats Smashing fruits and vegetables Self defense Etc., Etc. Edit to add: Inserting roll pins with the proper punch Installing hardwood flooring |

A wooden mallet has a 101 uses in gunsmithing. |

I made one similar to that. I hollowed out the inside and filled it with shot. Makes a great dead blow hammer.

As stated mostly used with high quality chisels for fine woodworking. Also useful to drive dovetails and tennon joints together.
