I'm building a kitchen with an L shaped cabinet/countertop layout. The short leg of the L calls for cabinets to run wall to wall. Unfortunately, my dimension is 5/8" over a 3" increment. I'm using premade, prestained cabinets.

The builder (myself) fucked up while putting this kitchen addition on by being off 5/8ths. No drywall is up, so I could fur it out, but I'd rather not. Do I have any other options? Have a 5/16" gap on each side of the stove?

ETA: There are windows on each wall I could fur....if I do that, I'd botch them up.

It will not matter.

Just put the cabinets in and move on.

Leave 30 1/8 for the range, the rest can be covered with scribe mold or a filler strip.

5/8" is nothing

I would bet that you are actually tighter than you think.

Drywall is not flat after it is finished.

If you knew how often cabinet installers were 5/8" off, much less framers, you'd have never asked this question.

Move on and sleep well.
