Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - ? About Sound with new big screen and surround sound

I just got a new sony sxrd big screen and I hooked up my Panasonic DVD/surround sound combo.  When I have a DVD in, it sounds like an echo or a delay between when the sound comes through the surround speakers vs. the tv's speakers.  This was not a problem with my old TV.  Any suggestions.

As in, the tv speakers play the sound first and then the surround system?  Turn off the tv speakers.

As in, audio/video isn't sync'd up?  I don't know.
