The movie is about a low level gangster who has to ditch a snub nose pimp gun used to kill a dirty cop. While the critics have ravaged it, I found it entertaining and fun. that said, it was also totally brutal!
Blood spattering everywhere, hockey pucks getting shot into people's faces, whores getting their faces ground into cut glass. the director was clearly channeling Sam Peckinpah.

I give it four out of five John Wayne tattoos.

SPOILERS.....

I really liked it...  in the theater.   Then about an hour later, it struck me just how completely implausible the whole story was.  He was an undercover cop for 14 years, and his wife didn't know?  Did he join the force when he was 18, and go directly undercover?  So he meets her, gets married, has kids... all while undercover?  That really pushed it over the edge for me.  Nothing he did makes sense when you say he was a cop the whole time.
The he gets shot, and almost bleeds out on his front lawn.  Yet, less than a week later (or however long it takes to arrainge a funeral), he has fixed his car, and is healed enough to rough house with the kids...
The ending of the movie sucks!

But....  The opening and closing gun fights were pretty nice.  Blood and gore o'plenty.  The side story about the snuff-kiddie-porn couple was interesting.  Always nice to see them die.

"I'm a mack-daddy pimp!"  That was tooooo funny!
SPOLIERS OFF

I give it a solid B.  Just watch it and go with it without over analysing the story.  It is worth seeing.

My interpetation.
I think he only turned into a mole a couple years ago. Like he explained to his boss in the ice rink.

The ending was a little fanciful. And more spoilers, I would have gut shot the pedarests so they bled out in max pain. And I wouldn't have called the cops.
