NOTE:  For purposes of the poll, please post your OTHER answers in thie thread.  I didn't put an OTHER response above because listing 5 choices usually messes up the results but I didn't feel I could leave out any of the four above.  If any other films get mentioned as much as/more than the ones above I will post something to that effect in this initial post.

Yes, I realize it isn't even quite Thanksgiving yet...  but if the retailers can start their marketing blitz this early, I figure I can do likewise with my Christmas movie thread(s).

This is the "Classic Christmas Movie" thread - I also have a "Contemporary Christmas Movie" thread HERE.

For the purposes of this thread, please limit yourself to movies released before 1960.  (Later films go in the other thread.)

This one is an easier choice for me...

A Christmas Carol (1951)

I just never got into "It's a Wonderful Life" although it is a very interesting film.

How about the new (last year) made-for-TV one (all new musical score) with Kelsey Grammer?  Anybody else here like that one?
(No, it doesn't belong in this thread, either.  Prepares for copious flame...)

I LOVE this version as well...Gabs, the Alisdair Sim version is also very good...

Hardshell, I can't vote.  I really like all of them except White Christmas. I LOVE the song, HATE the movie.

Sorry, Bing.

I love "It's A Wonderful Life" - I try to catch it every year.

Of course, I turn it off as soon as he jumps off of the bridge.  Everything after that point is an hallucination as he's dying, and I don't need to see that.  Up to that point is a very poignant story about what happens when a man tries to live his life for others rather than pursuing his own passions.  Ultimately it leads to his destruction.

It's a great movie.
