When I found out the rough plot points, the movie became an instant must-not-see. When is Hollywood gonna realize that changing major plot points like this just for the sake of money or convenience spells instant flop at the box office?
Nobody I know who played the game is going to go see it. I will admit that the Rock might be a person I'd consider for a role in a proper D][M movie, though. |

Big +1. The new Aeon looks HORRIBLE. I have the original Liquid TV shorts on a 'manually recorded' vhs around here somewhere. Something tells me that Aeon cover isn't going to be a foot-fetish model in this one. And the Doom movie will blow worse, I think. |

Don't stick camera angles that are JUST LIKE THE DAMN FPS GAME into the movie. That's got to be one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. |

Man I just saw that trailer. A few concerns:
1st: The last percentage of the human genome was discovered? Didn't we do that back in the late 1990's? Dr. J Craig Venter of Celera Genomics, IIRC? 2nd: One of the men was referred to as "soldier". Everyone knows that the DOOM guys were Marines! 3rd: The movie better not have all those gay first-person-view weapon shots. That better have been a trailer thing only. 4th: How did ID Software approve this movie, when there's such an obvious difference between this alleged plot and the plot of the game? Specifically, according to the trailer, it's a genome project fiasco that leads to the monsters forming, and there was no mention of teleporter research or gateways into hell or alien artifacts or ANYTHING. WTF? +1 Bad movie makers, bad. |
