Okay, I know it's not Shakespeare, but I've finished the first 4 and am moving onto the 5th.

I know there are some out there who have watched them from the beginning, and know a heck of a lot more than I do, but it seems the Lycans are SO much more powerful than the Vampires, even going back to the original 2 brothers.  The only advantage the Vampires seem to have is they are more in control mentally while the Lycans seem to be more animalistic, but since we don't have a Lycan protagonist, we don't know if they submit to the animal side or if they are still fully in control.

So if the Lycans are so much more powerful (or seem to be) why are the Vampires still around?  (Other than that being the way the story is written)

The movie does seem to change the level of the vampires powers depending on the situation.

Its a good series
