Hey,
Just watched it again last night. If you love practical effects in a sci-fi setting, it's a must see. Also, watch the DVD extras on how they made the movie. Great stuff and you can see the late great Stan Winston. 
Lastly, it was directed by John Favreau, who's next film was Iron Man. Kevin "Good stuff." |

Had no idea what it was about until the nephews brought it one Sunday afternoon....

I've been meaning to pick that one up. I just realized its got Josh Hutcherson and the twilight chick in it.
 I guess 5 years is a long time in the child actor universe.

My GF had to force me to watch it because I figured it would be some CGI laden kiddie movie, but I was pleasantly surprised by it.
She didn't even give me shit when I bought a copy for my DVD collection.
