Just out of curiosity.
I belong to the United Church of Christ. Deej86 |

Anglican (Church of England). You know, the one Henry VIII started so he could get a divorce .

Oh yeah, that one. Me too. Here in the US it's (for now) the Episcopal Church. However, they ordain another homosexual there will be a split and not sure what the new group will be called. Canterbury is pretty much done with that whole sad mess. |

None. I find churches to artificial constructs of man. If I want to seek out the Lord I go out in the Forest, what I call God's cathedral, or read my Bible. I will admit to not doing much of the latter for a long time.

I belong to no denomination right now. Heck , I don't even belong to a church. However, I have been looking into the Evangelical Free Church of America denomination. It is affilliated with my school.

Church of the Nazarene (very similar to Baptist or Methodist, but not quite as mainstream) |
|
I'm a member of a Southern Baptist church.
To say I 'belong to' them would be quite a stretch, though. |
|
Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, as if everyone didn't already know that about me.

To avoid any chance of hijacking this thread I deleted my message and sent an IM instead. I apologize - I should have thought it through before responding. Thanks.

I don't have a denominational affiliation or preference.
I just call myself Christian. Also, let me add that I don't see denominational affiliation as a bad thing, so long as it doesn't lead to attitudes of tribalism that interfere with unity among true believers. |

+1 I'm Southern Baptist |

Raised Catholic but simply consider myself Christian these days (Foursquare Gospel.)

I used to claim to be just a christian but so do many other groups. If you claim to be just a christian then are we to guess you believe everything anyone who claims to be just a christian says. I decided to call myself by my denomination because it makes it easier for others and avoids a lot ot misunderstanding and assumptions. I look for what we have in common as christians first and if they are not blatant heretics, I will fellowship with them no matter what name they call themselves by. I agree it is easy for man to play the tribal game as one put it. We muct strive to avoid that at all costs. I used to attend a non denominational church but realized what they believed was basically the core beliefs of most baptists. I have since had no problem with calling myself a baptist. Of course there are many different types of baptists. |

Thanks xinflt. "Mormons" is the nickname that people call us. Sometimes we use it ourselves. It's just easier for people to say, "the Mormons" than "members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints". |
