Hey, friends.

Tomorrow I'm going in for some surgery.  I have a hernia in my abdomen, above my navel, that is going to be repaired.

I had a similar procedure a couple years ago (two days after surgery I was on my way to the first VA BRD!), and it looks like my Kempo classes opened things up bigger than before.

This will get me some couch pilot time, getting caught up on reading and having my private Firefly film festival.

I've heard people say there is no such thing as "minor" surgery, but it doesn't rank up there with a friend's recent heart valve replacement.  However, anytime they open you up it's a good idea to have a few folks sending prayers your way.

Thanx!

Prayers sent - may you be well, happy, and at peace.  Brohawk, I had the same surgery two years ago and everything went fine.  Do what the doctor tells you afterward to prevent additional injury.  (I lift weights 4-5 times a week and was advised to wear a lifting belt, avoid certain exercises, etc.  I followed the instructions and everything went well.)  You'll be fine.

And all this time I thought it was me successfully making you uncomfortable...

Well, I really can't say it's Him that is sending all those hurricanes to NC!

Everything went well, and I'm healing nicely.  I'm a tad sore so I'm moving slowly, but I'm moving.

Thanks for all the prayers.  My home 'puter died, so I'm using the library to give you an update.
