Want to upgrade and wanted to know how much of a drain on the battery HID's would be compared to the stock/factory headlights. Am currently running a Optima red top battery.

Is true that HID's take a little time to warm up to full intensity?

if you are thinking of retrofitting, please do it the right way and manage the beam cutoff. don't be like those idiots that buy a drop-in kit and blind on-coming traffic.

True HID's take les power than conventional headlights.

+1 - Don't do it unless you put them in a projector housing like they're suppose to be. If you put the bulbs in a standard halogen housing the light will scatter too much and without a proper cutoff you will blind oncoming traffic.

You can more than likely retro fit a set of projectors from a car that comes with them from the factory (ex: Honda S2000) but it takes some know how and patience.

Yes, after reading the responses I saw an internet site that showed how to do this even though it was not specific to my car. Have also been looking for "conversion" kits to change over to projector style housing.

you will also need an upgraded harness and a relay because of the high amounts of draw from the initial startup of HID's. A $40 harness is cheaper than replacing your entire automotive harness! Just cheap insurance.

HID uses less power and turns on just about immediately. 3 of my 5 cars have it, 2 from the factory and 1 that I homedepot'ed it.

If you were to fit HID on a non-HID car, please make sure you aim it lower or have a proper cut off so you don't blind people at night. Some of us have guns you know.... joke
