The first thing I'd check would be a fuel pump dying. Normally if one starts to go, it doesn't last as long as yours has, but it's worth looking at. Try cycling the key on and off 3-4 times before you try to start the car. Leave it in the on position for 4-5 seconds before turning back off. This will engage the fuel pump and should help build up some pressure in the rail.

Sounds like it may need a basic tune-up. How many miles? How old are the plugs and wires? Consider the basics first. That being said, I'd get it read for codes before I started throwing any parts at it.
