Seriously considering a new inline-6 automatic Wrangler Rubicon. It's not a deal-breaker, but gas mileage is a point for consideration. (regular is $2.95-$3.10 in Miami area) Who has good mileage figures for a Wrangler with the auto 6 cylinder ? My driving is about 1/2 stop & go, 1/2 highway. And any input (facts, please) on changing to 33"s at a later date or the benefits of the AirAid setup, etc... ?
Thanks for any info. Stay safe

My brother has an 01 with 33s, 4.1s, 4.0L and the NV3500 five speed. He reports about 14 mpg.

My dad has a '97 Wrangler with some sort of Goodyear 31's AT's with the 4.0L.

Don't know the ratio's off hand, but he gets about 16-17mpg with a manual tranny. My mom's '04 Liberty only gets about 18mpg.

Thankyou much for the info. Conservation & the environment aside ... you only go around once, and it sure is nice to still be able to pick what you want to drive. I may just ante up a bit more and buy one. Stay safe

Mine, too.  My Rubicon Unlimited ( Six banger with Six Speed Manual Trans ) just SUCKS gas to beat the band.  As it is breaking in the milage is getting a bit better...but I'd be suprised if I was getting over 13 in town.  Highway miles are much better.

Cause that little Liberty weighs over 3800 lbs,and that's the el-cheapo Sport model. My Liberty gets about 18-20 mpg, which is why I drive 60 mph.
