Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Rear Defroster contact broken off

My rear defroster contact is broken off... it's just hanging by the wire, instead of being attached to the glass in the right spot.

Is there any way to do a 'do-it-yourself' job to fix this?  Or am I looking at a rear window replacement just to get a window with the connector on there?

if you are careful I think you can either solder it back on, or get a repair kit and re attach.  I have soldered some on with some luck. don't know how perminant it would be in a hatch type glass though.

Hmmm... it's not a hatchback, so I'd be soldering upside down.  Have to see how that goes, and how to solder to whatever material that is.

Maybe check with your local automotive glass installer. They might have something you can use.
