I really don't care as long as it's an American company. But, I guess if I had to break it down further, I would say for me it is Chevy then Ford then Dodge. I just can't get into the asian import crap.
I have one of each! Chevy Corvette for the only american sports car, and a Ford ranger, because Ford builds better trucks!
Chevy. GM in general, actually.
But when it comes to really being American made, I'd have to say that a Kentucky-made Toyota is more American than a Mexican made Chevy or Ford. Well, it's TRUE! CJ |

Beat it, this thread is for entertainment only. No cry babies allowed. |
I'll start then by asking you why they arent making the fbodies anymore? It couldnt have anything to do with they were selling more stangs than cameros and firecluckers combined would it? THE CHEVY MUSCLE CAR IS DEAD |
Harley Davidson motorcycles first.
Chevrolet trucks next. Colt_SBR |
Ford. I'm not gay nor a senior citizen so why would I want to drive anything GM?
Even after the crap I went thru today working on my truck... I still vote FORD.
But there are a few Ford engineers I would like to see flogged, keel hauled, drawn and quartered, then hung by there entrails. "Ford, we have a better Idea" ( but we won't use it. ) I try to buy U.S. - but next time I may have to go Toyota And yes if I didn't live here in CO where snow can be a factor year round I would likely be on a bike. |
I have had 2 Ford vehicles. I am qualified to say that Ford sucks. I now own a Chevy |
I don't compare companies I compare the cars, I like Mustangs, Camaros, Older Mopars, Some Imports like the 280ZX, 240SX, Eclipse, Honda Prelude,
I think that all car companies put out both good and bad vehicles, I currently own a Mustang and a Chevy Caprice. |
Thats First on Race Day. I have a modified 500hp 03 Cobra and its the best car I have ever had and that includes the three Trans-Ams I have owned.
You chevy fans tell me this: if chevys are superior to fords than why are they going to cut 25000 jobs in the next couple of years? And why are they losing $2,300 per vehicle sold this year (according to a news report)?
The only chevys I like are the H2's and the new corvettes. At least hey got that right. Ford shivy |
Both myo Ford and Chevy stood up to alot of abuse, so Im ok with either
Actually GM retooled the f body plant in Quebec to make trucks because their truck sales were increasing. I'm a BowTie fan but I'll also be the first to say that if GM doesn't get off their corporate nuts and start putting quality and new fresh idea's on the street...they are going to be in worse shape then they are now. They should take a page from Chryslers book in regards to new pushing the envelope designs and returning to their roots ideas. |
Yes, that's a BIG +1. Both makes have their pros and cons and all of it varies greatly by era. |
Yea, the Ranger... a mazda with a blue oval |
Ford and Chevy almost equal in my eyes. Maybe Ford Trucks are better and I like chevy cars. But not by much.
I hold them both pretty high over dodge/mopar. |
Ashes to ashes dust to dust, if it weren't for chevy's your tools would rust.
As companies none of them is any better than the rest. Sure Ford had the exploding pintos but Chevy single handedly killed the passenger car diesel market with the 350N engine. Mopar has defined the market at times (minivans and the "peterbilt" pick up truck look) but has made some spectacular flops too. (K-cars etc.)
I have had fords, chevies and dodges. I just pick what I want with out regard to manufacturer. However I will only buy from the traditional american companies, I.E. Ford, Chevy, or Mopar. |
Fu*ker Only Runs Downhill There's nothing better sounding than a 350 Chevy with straightpipes and Cherry Bombs. Thats what redneck dreams are made of And on the 350 Diesel note, GM took a Buick (or was it Olds) 350 GAS motor and converted it to a diesel. They should have known that there was gonna be problems. Gas motors, no matter how HD they are, AREN'T cut out for diesel compression. WIZZO (Fullsize Chevy Blazer 4x4 guy) |

Or, spelled backwards: "Driver Returns On Foot" |
I gotta remember that one. WIZZO |
It couldn't be that 3/4 ton in your avatar speaking, could it? WIZZO |
Actually, no. It would be the 1-ton in my avatar. Something ELSE Chevy doesn't make. |
Chevy makes a tonner.
I think they even make a single wheel like yours. WIZZO |
Ahhhh. Ignorance is bliss, eh? [soup nazi] No Chevy single-wheel 1-tons for you! [/soup nazi] |
Have a Ford and owned two Chevies before. Ford interiors have a really cheap feel to them. I liked my Chevy better in that regard.
Beyond that they both run as good as can be expected from a US made car... they last as long as the warranty and then turn to shit. |
Ehhh, if you're gonna go for 1 ton, you go for dually at the same time. If not, all you have is an HD 3/4 ton WIZZO |
Ohhh. You mean like Chevy's 2500HD. I seeeee. |
Proof I'm not completely FOS.
HERE "Silverado 3500 LS Single-Rear Wheel 4x4 Crew Cab in Black with available Duramax Diesel V8 engine, Allison transmission and other features. Price as shown $44,533*" WIZZO |
There you have it. Must be new for '06, though. They haven't offered one of those for a while. |
It's possible. Although I'm a Chevy guy, it's the first time I've visited their website in 2 or 3 years.
My dad has an '01 2500HD with the Duramax. Chevy didn't offer a single-rear-wheel 1-ton then. Kinda stupid not to, given that Dodge and Ford do. |
Apparently, Chevy thought so too for '06. WIZZO |
+1 I'm happy with my 2005 Ford F250 SD Super Cab with the 6.0PSD |
I owned two Ford trucks and was so fed up with their customer service that I just bought a GM.
I like certain cars more than certain makers. And any and everything can easily go tits up if not taken care of.
As far as buying american...I just end up buying what I like. Regardless whether its american or not. Besides, we dump foreign oil into them...lol. |
I drive Toyota trucks nowadays.
But the chevy trucks and vans I have owned [I've owned 5 over the years] were far more reliable than the fords [I've owned two]. I vote Chebby. |
