Mine wasn't near that fast but blew up just before the end of the quarter at 140 mph and caught fire, seemed like an eternity to get that thing stopped. I wanted out!

A stuck throttle like that in a an old slingshot dragster would be like 2 or 3 grenades (engine/clutch/rear gear)between your legs just waiting for one of them to go off.
