It's time for a new ride and I really like the Challenger. I was wondering if anybody on here has one and their thoughts on it.

My dad bought an SRT a while back, but I've not seen it in person. He loves it though.

His is the orange one, taken at a track day.

I know someone that has one.

He loves it, but knew what he was buying.

It's not a mid-size pony car, a Mustang / Camaro competitor.  It's more of a muscle car, bigger.  Think of it as a 2-door Charger, with Challenger styling.

It won't handle as crisply as a Mustang or Camaro, but is roomier than either.

Have a 2010 SRT8 black that is the most fun I havehad in over 45 years of driving. 87,000 miles no complaints. Runs great. Good luck.

I had two, an '11 R/T Plus auto and a '12 R/T Classic 6-spd.  Fun cars with lots of room for tall drivers (I'm 6'2").  No problem fitting myself and two other passengers; a fourth could fit if I moved my seat forward.  Tons of trunk room.  It's a big and heavy car, at least compared to the Camaro and Mustang so it isn't quite as nimble or quick but IMO is by far the best looking.  It makes a great cruiser though and IMO is a great compromise for a daily driver.  I did not have them for very long but neither gave me any problems whatsoever.  I would not hesitate to get another.

I don't know if you are looking to buy new or used but starting with the '11 models they upgraded the front suspension and I am told they handle and drive much nicer than the previous years.  The interior received some refreshing too (new steering wheel).

There's got to be around 20-30 members here with them.

OP, just search 'challenger' in this forum and GD.

Thanks for the replies everybody, I really appreciate it. I'm looking at a 2013 R/T-definitely getting one with a Hemi! It's going to be my everyday driver and 99% of the time it'll just be me or me and the wife in it so the backseat room isn't really a concern. I'm also willing to sacrifice some handling characteristics versus the Camaro or Mustang simply for the looks of the Challenger. I'm not going to be taking it to a track or anything like that.

Congrats! I bought a '10 R/T 6speed last year with less than 10k miles on it last year and love it.  It's black, too.  I love having a car with such a big trunk.  I also love the 6 speed.  The car had a similar feel to a second gen Viper I rented in vegas, and that sold me.  I test drove some other muscle cars at the time and the dodge did it for me.  I've had mustangs since my teenage years, and don't feel any buyers remorse about my Challenger.  My wife has an 06 Charger, so we are a dodge family now.

Is that your house?  Looks nice.  Is it wrong I didn't even notice the car in the foreground for a few seconds?

You will not regret your purchase. My Challenger is the most enjoyable vehicle I have ever owned.
