Like the title says, I need a trailer brake controller for my f150, what should I buy?  I'm tired of being limited to only taking the old surge brake trailers from work.  I have not done any research whatsoever.

What model F-150? If it's a newer one, you can add the hardware for the integrated brake box from Ford and have the dealer flash it to work. I love mine, and it works better than any aftermarket controller, IMO.

Otherwise, I'd stick with Tekonsha, Reese, or Draw-Tite. I've used them all and have had no issues.

I own one of these Prodigy® P2 by TEKONSHA,  buy the mounts and wiring and you can swap it between two vechiles also has a life time warranty. works great with my dual axle enclosed trailer with brakes on all 4 wheels . they are a bit pricey but they work great

TEKONSHA P3.  NO QUESTIONS ABOUT IT.  End of discussion.  You can even add multiple trailers in its memory and it will save all the brake settings.  Very easy to setup as well.  So much better than the Tekonsha P2 or any other controller. You can also change the LCD colors to match your gauges. Not a big deal, but it's sweet anyways :)
