Recently I bought the wife and myself a pair of '02 Disco IIs.

Like a asshole I forgot to check both undercarriages and the one my wife drives has a little rust that needs removal.

It isn't too bad but I do not want it to get any worse.

What is the hive mind for the best method of rust removal?

The correct way would be to hit it with a paint stripping wheel on a cordless drill, give it an acid bath (special acid you get at high end body shops and retailers), Prime it with some zinc paint and paint or undercoat.

POR-15 is a good product. It probably works a little better if you do a little surface clean up first, but it's designed to brush right over the affected surface. It's a little pricey.
