Sure, but you can get into a 450 SL for 5K!

This car is all metal (no filler) it is a repaint, has some dings but EVERYTHING on the car functions as it should.

Hey, it is a cheap V8  Roadster whats not to like?

BTW this is not a daily driver for me. captainpooby, it is on the list, it is merely a stepping stone................ultimately for me 68 427 drop top. But hey, roadsters are a hoot! Did I mention I have the hard top as well? Comes in handy on those winter nights lol!

I like the car, and can certainly appreciate another man's treasure, but I look at every car as if I personally have to work on it.

I wouldn't wrench on this car that much,Bosch Jetronic fuel injection, no thanks!  A buddy in the MB business.

Did you know that if, even as a second or 4th or 12th owner of an MB they will, at no cost

Fuel
Jump
Fix at flat
......regardless of year or mileage? I didn't.

Save money through buying a 30 year old MB

LOL that's like saying I couldn't afford a late model Cherokee (XJ) so I bought this 80's land rover instead because it was cheaper.................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. . ... ......     ... ..to buy

If you drove that in the 80s WITH a cell phone stuck to your ear, you were a CEO or some big shot!
It is still cool. You don't ever see many around at all, so enjoy it and I'm sure you'll get plenty of looks in it.
As long as you enjoy it and it drives well, it sounds like you made a good purchase.

74 450 SE 4dr here.

I have the 4.8 as well.   Not the greatest bottom end but these will move once you get them rolling.   They are built like a tank & the polished stainless trim is cool.

Mine was expensive to get the bugs worked out as it sat for 20 yrs.

Perfect now & a pretty cool old guy car.   The it & finish is pretty amazing compared to domestic cars of that age & even todays new cars.

Nice car, but if you intend to drive it regularly you are going to find out one of the unavoidable truths of life, the most expensive car you will ever own is a Luxury car you bought cheap.

It has collectors plates, If I put 2000 a year on it I would be amazed!
