They ding us if its not in a flat-rate box.. The largest is like a 15x8 and you can get a bunch of stuff in them. Less than $8 for up to like 60 or 70 lbs...

Can't do the online postage is the only bad part about the APO - have to go do the short customs form and pay at the counter, but still tons better than a FEDEX to the sandbox... Yikes.

Same price as US fees.  Sometimes stuff got there in 5 days, 10 days average.  Other items took 6 weeks.  Return shipping was quicker, usually a week for a box to make it stateside.  Toward the end stuff took 3-6 weeks to return home.  I guess it has to do with the xray of mail in kuwait getting backed up.  Here is some advice.  The second you recognize that an item you have will not be used the rest of the deployment and is taking up space (ie the extra 15 brown tshirts sitting in your duffel) mail the item home.  It will save you time at the end when you have a ton of shit that you acquired out of the blue and no where to put it.  You also wont have to rush to mail it home at the end.  friendly advice.  The water boxes turned inside out with a hefty amount of tape did the trick for getting items home.
