They're enabled of course.  Most sites w/ a login don't work without them including the ones I develop.

It's embarrassing just how poor a job Microsoft does.  I'm playing poker tonight against a bunch of Microsoft employes.  That's an easy way to make money.  I've played them twice before and won both times.  They just don't hire bright people.z

I just figured it out, the OP tried to link to his own session.  That's why it's bitching about the cookies.

Well, I guess I know what I'll be doing for the couple of days.

Hope I don't violate the Comcast 250gb per month limit.

Oops, seems like the product keys aren't available for the free subscription.

Oops, Edited to Add (OETA): Looks like the product key issue is a microsoft problem, they are working on it. Whew.

There is a link once you finish the process.

Or go to the link below and log in... and use IE as a browser, shocking but it works better for MS TechNet than other browsers.

It is still up.  Just got done downloading some operating systems.

News is out that Opera web browser works the best for getting the keys.

If it doesnt work the first time, close browser and try again.  It will eventually work.

I'm in, I had to re-log in with my Subscriber Benefit Access Number.

They are having trouble.

This morning the key server crashed, now we can't download anything.

I'll try again tomorrow.

I just talked to a guy that called MS about this and it looks like MS is going to shut out everyone that signed up for a free subscription on the grounds the link was meant for only IT professional... which I am and many of us are but that does not matter.

I am still shut out and it will not take the benefit number.

I can see why they might want to shut out just average folks but I have been a MS partner and certified for years and they don’t seem to give a damn.

If that is the case call your rep

You can sign in with the same id as you use for your partner ID.

If you cant then you are not a partner.

At least not one with any pull.

I can get any operating system mailed to me with keys

Just called up ned and ordered Home server.

It was shipped the next day.

Call your rep. you need access to this stuff.

Interesting.

It appears that if you created your TechNet account in Europe and Australia MS still has to honor it or face fines.

They won't be able to blacklist those keys.

Waiting for after action report.  Anybody have homeland security knocking on their door yet?

I fired up the 32 bit and 64 bit Vista in VM, they updated just fine. I added Office 2007 Pro, signed up for everything and it updated just fine. I signed up for the Customer Improvement program and I even got updates to the updates (very Microsoft like).

If MS was going to get you they would do it like they did with XP, through the update process.

This is nothing new. All of this stuff is already out there in torrents and usenet.

If you think about what is going on at Microsoft all of this will make a little more sense. Microsoft has examined the MPAA and RIAA business model and rejected it as suicide. Corporate America, Microsoft's bread and butter, has stopped updating because it's doesn't have the money. Alienating their computer nurd core at this time will only make things worse for them.

As long as someone doesn't go out and start selling this stuff to the public Microsoft won't want to do anything or generate any hostile press like the MPAA and RIAA did.

Look at it like Microsoft gave us some free toys to play with to keep us from migrating to the dark side (linux).
