Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Raid setup on ASUS Striker Extreme

I hope that someone could help me.  I'm wanting to set up a RAID on my gaming computer and I have one hard drive with information on it and I have a blank hard drive.  When I set up for the RAID, will I lose all my information on that one hard drive.  I've never set up a RAID so is there any secrets can someone share with me to make this go easy.  (I've read the ASUS forums and for some reason I just don't understand on how to go about this)

tell us which type of raid you are wanting to do.  either way,  this is gonna get complicated.   have you installed windows on a computer with a raid setup before?   are the drives the same size manufactor etc?  

do you have a floppy disk with the raid floppy drivers available?

Raid 0 is what I have in mind.  I've never had a RAID setup before, my first computer.  The disks are exactly the same.  I didn't get a floopy disk, it came on a CD.  (I don't have a floppy drive on my computer but I can get one that will connect via USB)

enable raid in the bios for your drives

go into the raid config and configure to raid 0

the drivers cd should have a folder(raid drivers) you copy to a disk. OR perhaps make the disk for you.

get a regular floppy drive because it will be needed to load the driver so windows xp will be able to recognize your raid control and identify the raid drives

when you start to load windows make sure you press f6.  load the raid drivers,  then load windows.
