That's what seems to have started this whole mess....It just happened again this am...machine was fine last night....then got hung up when I hit the "shutdown" selection...now this morning, "ntldr" is missing.....ARGH!
Booting from CD into Recovery Console..."fixmbr" command didn't do any good.
Hmmm...whatever happened to the "since Windows failed to load......(select "Last Known Good Configuration"? Does MCE lack this feature?
..And what about Automated System Recovery? Ho'ws this work?
One thing for sure: thank god I have a laptop that I don't svrew arund with or I wouldn't be here now....
ETA: Found th eproblem...you ain't gonna believe this: I left my camera's CF disk plugged into the usb port on the monitor..didn't notice it until I was looking at the boot choices. Pulled it out, rebooted and all is well (as well as normal)_
WTF?
