I am a mac person, but I have a PC in my office for "certain software" that won't run on a mac. I upgrade my Macs regularly, and keep them relatively current for years. I know the easy fix is just to buy a new PC, but money is tight, and ... I decided I must be able to get a little more life out of my Pavilion 4445. Problem is, Google is not helping!
Can anybody here tell me whether 1: I definitely have a socket 370 on my motherboard (or how I can find out) and 2 :whether I will notice a difference going from a Celeron 366 mhz to a Celeron 733. I only word process and do light downloading on this machine - no gaming or graphics, really. The Celeron 733 is only 15 bucks!
Just installed a network card for 15 bucks, and added memory for another 20. Seems like parts are cheep, but how far can/should I take the upgrades?
Thanks!
