Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - why does my cursor randomly move to one corner of the screen?

I've got a Dell laptop and the cursor randomly moves to the lower left or upper right corner of the screen. It will ignore any input from the touchpad or the fingertip control (on the keyboard). After a few seconds it will return to normal. Any ideas? I've already tried using air to clean the keyboard and touchpad.

My inspiron 8200 did that when it was new. I downloaded a new driver at the Alps Electric website and problem solved.
