Files must be blocked from un authorized access and can be encrypted.

128 meg USB
111 Meg usable space

Must be pretty resilient to strong arming.
Must be usable on any computer.

Password protected zip file is a no go.

PGP can encrypt files in self decrypting exes, like a self unzipping exe

Steganos safe and then set up a portable safe on your USB drive.
Portable safe is a stand alone but the setup of the drive safe is done with the PC. Thats what I use for my backup for the checkbook.

But is it free??

I have found Folder Lock, which seems cool. Locks, encrypts, then HIDES the folder and Misrepresents the room left so it appears that there is nothing there.

Not free
But it has a 30 day trial.
This one encripts any files or folders into a single .sle file. When opened it shows up as a removable drive.

the majority of the drives we sell.  comes with software stored from the factory to encrypt the drive.

yes, it has a feature that allows it to reside on the USB drive itself.
