I posted this a while but I never got a good response.

A while ago my usb ports just stopped working. They were working before when I had a wireless mouse and  joystick.

I have a Gigabyte K8NSC motherboard

please help me! Thank you.

do they show as okay in the device manager?

all you can do is check the bios make sure they are enabled.  
make sure you have service pack 2 installed for xp.  

plug in multiple devices,  see if it detects ANY of them.   if it doesn't  

go to a local computer store.   buy a pci usb 2.0 card.  install it or have it installed.   this will give you at least 4 more usb ports.

The point is, the ports just might be dead.  The add-on card idea sure beats replacing the motherboard.
