right click on my computer go to properties.  click the advanced tab.   click startup and recovery.   uncheck display OS  on startup.    or edit the boot.ini  so that it only sees one OS loading.  You should be able to delete the bottom two and just leave the top one.   (if that is the one that you select to boot to on startup)

this has nothing to do with the bios.  its all software related.  So i would not tinker with the bios

I would not buy the 64bit windows.  hold off and buy vista when it comes out.  JMO

I have XP Pro, and my screen shows a little different.. not sure if it is a Pro difference or not. But when you click on "Start Up and Recovery", I have this button that says "Edit", clicking that will allow you to edit the boot.ini file which hold records for any OS installs on your drives. When you edit the file, you will notice it orders them by the disk # and the partition #... simply delete the ones you don't want and close it and save it. Reboot, and things should be the way you want them.

Bonus Point Question: Is XP x64 any improvement (like $140 worth) over standard XP Pro?

No, the software has not matured.  Sure Solitare works and Fiefox works, so you can have your porn, but you can hold out a few years.....

Unless you lwant to play Halo 2 for the PC. MS has said they will only release Halo for Windows Vista because of holds outs hurting their profit margins.....
