I have a 128mb ScanDisk SD card from an inexpensive MP3 player that I want to use in my new digital camera.

I set the camera to "format" the media... but afterwards, I cannot take any pics.

When I re-install my other SD card, everything is fine.

Can a SD card be corrupted beyond use?

Thanks.

does it say the card is blank, or that it can't write to it??
I don't think i've heard of a proprietary card, but it could be possible

do you have a reader you can hook up to your computer to see if you can format it from your computer?

When I select the SD card to read images from, the camera indicates "there are no pictures on the card".

I don't have a media reader, but I guess I should have one anyways...
