Hi.

I used to have a folder which contained two other files (video, if it matters).

This folder was renamed, using an extension.  I was not the person who did this.
The computer recognized the new file name, and now tries to open the folder as a file using the associated browser.

How can I fix this?  Can this be fixed?

Windows 2000, NTFS if it matters

I'll start with the stupid question
did you try right clicking and renaming to remove the extension?

All else fails you could try going to the command line interface (Start>Run>cmd).  Since you have to cd to the directory instead of double clicking you should be able to get past explorer trying to run it via the associated program.
